NEWS from Louisville's Music scene

I read recently, that Leonard (Lenni) Whatley has passed away.

He sang Bass in The Sultans for many years, after the first Bass singer left.

His Obit. is available for reading in The Courier Journal via "Legacy .com., I think.

The original Sultans has lost almost everyone in the original group.

I believe that Ralph Zehnder is the last surviving member, now..

I knew Lenny.  He was a nice kid.  It seems like he had a sister that I knew also, but I can't remember her name.  I think he went to Southern High School.

The Sultans, could have made it very well on the National scene.

Today, it is SO difficult for ANY group to become known on the National scale.

The industry is so ...."confused", by royalty issues, etc.

Cliff, if you are reading this, ...How's your CD doing ?

And, Stan, tell us a little bit about 'The Thoroughbred Chorus"  !
