CLARK, GEORGE, 68, of Marietta, GA, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Metropolitan Hospice at Serenity Manor.

Born in Louisville, he was the son of the late Clifford Emery Clark, Jr. and Julia Wareing Clark. George was a graduate of the University of Louisville and a veteran of the United States Air Force. A gifted photographer, George created photographs for more than 30 years. His photographs have appeared in magazines and newspapers all over the world; and he was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. He was a proud Eagle Scout and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fly fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Bondurant Clark; son, George Alexander Clark, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Oakland Gardens, NY; daughter, Frances Lee Bogle and her husband, Brian, of Hickory, NC; brother, Clifford Emery Clark III and his wife, Gayle, of Brandon, FL; brother, William Wallace Clark of Louisville; sister-in-law, Mary Ward Tabler and her husband, Biggs of Louisville; four grandchildren; four nephews; and one niece.

A memorial service will be held at The Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta at 1 p.m. in the afternoon on Thursday, March 24, 2011. The family will receive friends at their home immediately following the service.
