50th Reunion Details

Our 50th Reunion will take place Friday 9/28/12, Saturday 9/29/12, and Sunday 9/30/12 here in Louisville.

Friday September 28, 2012

An informal evening at one of Louisville's more interesting venues, The Market Place Restaurant at Theater Square on 4th St. downtown directly behind the Brown Hotel and occupying the old Kentucky movie theater building. This upscale eatery is more New York than Louisville in its atmosphere but very reasonably priced with an jazz trio playing in the lounge. We have included a link for more information.

No reservations needed just show up from 7:00 PM on and we'll be in the back room. A great place to grab a bite, have a drink, and catch up before the main event Saturday night at the Louisville Boat Club. Plenty of parking, the closest being a multi level parking garage on the west side of 3rd Street immediately before you reach Broadway. Come out the back and you're 100 feet from the restaurant. Save some time for a walk down 4th Street if you haven't seen it in a while. Dress is casual but a coat and tie for the men won't make you feel out of place.

COST: It's on you.

Saturday September 29, 2012

Our main event. 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Louisville Boat Club, 4200 River Road, Louisville, Ky. 40207 (502) 896 0375. Located on River Rd. between Indian Hills Trail and Blankenbaker Lane.

Enjoy a buffet dinner with cash bar from 6:00 to 9:00. Conversation level dinner music by "Barb and Eddie" (Barbara Polk and Eddie Humphries) until 9:00 and then it's Show Time with the "Doo Wop Allstars" (Lynn Cline, John Hourigan, Bill Summit, George Poole, & Alan Watson, along with Barb and Eddie). We've heard this group and feel they are the best local talent available for bringing back "our" music. Our reunion committee musician, Stan Tucker, brought them to our attention and we are delighted to have reserved them for this event. After the show a little more quiet music and then we'll call it a night.

COST: $55 per person

Sunday September 30, 2012

11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. How about a late brunch at the Bed and Breakfast of '61 classmate Steve Porter and his wife. The "Tucker House" is located east of Louisville in the countryside and promises a relaxing end to the weekend. Hours are yet to determined so stay tuned.

Want to attend one or all of these events? There are 2 ways to do it. Either sign up on this web site.... go to "Registration" on the left of the home page under "Classmate Profiles", click on "Registration" and follow the instructions OR call or email Mike Skelton (502) 895 6000, mike@skeltoncompany.com . Tell him what you want to do and he'll take it from there. Any checks should be payable to "Waggener 62 Reunion" and mailed to Mike Skelton, 700 Rudy Lane, Louisville, Ky. 40207.

Some of our classmates who are planning to attend the main events have also expressed their interest in also getting together during the day on Saturday for some outside activities on an informal basis:

  • Susan Pillans has offered to arrange a ladies lunch get-together somewhere Saturday afternoon.  The venue has not yet been determined, and will depend on the expected headcount.  Let is know if you have some suggestions.  The cost would be on you.

  • Ronnie Cundiff has also offered to arrange a golf outing that Saturday for any boys (and girls) who would like to join in.  The cost would be on you.

For both the golf outing and the ladies lunch, we will need to know who is interested by June 1st , so we can make the final plans.  Ronnie and Susan both live out of town and will be working out the arrangements via long distance.  If you are interested in attending either of these two outside events, please use the website’s Registration page link to sign up, and also send a separate RSVP e-mail to Marilyn at waggener62@att.net.  She will forward your messages to Ronnie and Susan.

P.S. If anyone would like to arrange some other outside activities,  we encourage you to utilize this website via the announcement feature or direct contact with classmates to make this work.
